When I put a year in a search it should only bring up cards for that year.

That is what should happen, unless your search brings up no results, then the results can be expanded to find more matches.

For example: "1986 Fleer Jordan". All the results have "86" in the card info (set name or card name)

Can you give me a search where the results didn't make sense to you?
