Ability to create folders in collection

It would be nice to be able to create folders to organize the cards in our collection.  An example would be to create a folder for each player or sport and have the results show on the left side in alphabetical order.  Or you could create folders of potential cards you want to sell or ones you may want to get graded.  There are a few sorting features but it still doesn't narrow the results down very much.

Another feature that would be nice would be being able to tag cards with whatever color you want so it's easy to see when you go into each folder.

Folders are live.

You can put any collection item into a folder and organize your collection.

Thanks to everyone who suggested this and your patience waiting for it too.

It seems like it is working good now, thank you for the updates.

Here are a couple ideas I thought of while using the new folder feature (if you would prefer a separate thread let me know):

1.  I know the folder feature is completed technically but as I use it more I find out there are other things that could make it even better.  It would be nice if you could select more than one card at a time to put in a folder.  Not sure how it would work but maybe a checkmark that you could click on each card you want to put into a folder.

2.  Is there a way we can edit/delete a folder name?

3.  Being able to search a "keyword" within your cards would be helpful to narrow down your results.  Then you could select all the "Jordan" cards in your collection and put in the folder.

4.  If it's possible.....ability to separate folders in the dropdown menu by sport.  For example, when I'm going through my basketball cards to organize into folders it shows player folders from all sports and can get quite long.  Would be nice if when you filter to show just basketball cards that it would only show basketball folders.

Thanks!

Change folder name:

Thanks for these other suggestions too.  Please add them as their own requests so we can get user votes on them and know which ones are a priority with users.  Thank you

This should be fixed now.  It seems like it was happening on cards loaded after the first 30 (those are loaded via javascript, which was not sorting the folder list correctly).  Can you please try again and let me know if it is fixed.

Here are 2 examples, one right next to each other. I’ve tried refresh, some are in alphabetical order but many are not. Once I get more folders it will be hard to determine which ones I’ve created already if it’s out or order. Let me know if you need any other info. Thanks! (Sorry wouldn’t allow me to rotate the pics)

The drop downs showing folders should be in alphabetical order.  Can you take a screenshot of the drop down you are seeing that is not alphabetical?  I want to see which location that is so I can fix it.  You can post image here or send email to sales@vgpc.com

Thanks for that feedback about the folders and having to go back to the results instead of staying on the same page.  I'll make a note about that for future improvements on the folders tool.

There is not a way to batch move items to folders at this time.  Sorry.

I can make a note about that for future improvement to that tool but we don't have any immediate plans to add that.

No worries. I hadn't realized we were limited to 2 different folders total. Batch tagging wouldn't help with such limited features. Thanks.

I noticed that as well, but it could be eliminated by being able to edit the folder names as capitalization seems to have something to do with it.

I have fixed the problem with random order on the "New Folder" / Edit Details page.  That will show up on the site with the next server update (usually every 24 hours).

In terms of alphabetical with upper and lower case, lower case is officially considered after upper case letters.  If you want to change the sort order you can change the folder name to be use Capital letters at the beginning or all lower case.

I don't want to change it on our end because someone could be using names like "Folder A", "Folder B", ..... "Folder a".  Our system would allow those names as unique, but the sort order that ignore capitalization would treat them as the same thing.

Hi. Is there any way that we can create folders and then batch tag cards to that folder? Now that there are folders, I would really like to avoid having to go into each of my 2000 cards to individually folder them. Thanks!!!
