Set checklist database scrub possible?

I'm curious how the backend is setup regarding the sets and checklists. But my question is, is it possible to do a checklist scrub and verify against the manufacturer checklist? I'm submitting so many reports for variants that are incorrectly created base cards that it's getting frustrating just trying to check prices. Most people probably don't care, but I try to support the cleanup where I can.

It might take a while to run the process, but it shouldn't take that long to write. For every set, there's a manufacturer checklist. For every set checklist here, incorrectly added cards change the set count. Any mismatches could be recorded for something akin to a bug bash.

Here's an example: 1985 Topps football. 396 card checklist from Topps. Sportscardpro currently has 462 in the checklist. That means that there are 66 duplicate listings in that set due to incorrectly added variants. 1988 Topps has 44 duplicates.

We are working on some clean up on the sets now.  We delete incorrect items/duplicates and then lock the sets.

We should have these fixed in the very near future.

Does the database here save full checklists for sets? I'd like to understand how set checklists are created and verified, or maybe a better way of asking, "what's the source of truth for ensuring all checklists have the complete set listed?"

We can take this offline if this isn't the right place for the conversation. I'm just getting frustrated with the amount of set checklists that are incomplete. I'm working mostly with cards from 1990-2000, and every time I come across a set that has 5-20 cards listed out of a set of 100+ cards, I get incredibly frustrated. I just don't understand how a set checklist can have 8 cards listed when the set obviously has more. Or the set is missing all the parallels. Modern parallels, no big deal. But stuff like Topps Stadium Club basketball missing the whole Member's Only parallels in a 10 card insert set. Or even worse, have two out of the ten listed and eight missing.

There really needs to be a scrub against a stable source of truth. If the source checklist says there are X number of cards, then the set should get flagged if there are more cards or less cards than the checklist states.

Some sets have a complete list that we have added and it comes straight from the publisher.  Other sets, usually less popular ones might be mostly added by users.  We are working through sets all the time to complete and clean more of them.  Usually doing 3-4 sets per day at least.

If you have a set that you think needs to be addressed, please let us know and we can bump that up the queue to clean and complete.

Looks like the Topps football sets are still an issue. 1986, 1987, etc. One has 32 extra cards and one has 38.

Example: 1986 Topps
