Separate raw card prices by auction and buy it now prices/delete the highest and lowest values

I think it would be beneficial to have two different price categories for raw cards…one for auction prices and one for buy it now prices. The two values, when it comes to raw cards, can be so different that it throws off the “current value” or “current selling price” of the card. Someone might hit or snipe an auction on a raw card for $2.00 when it typically sells for over $5.00 with buy it now. This greatly throws off the average value or price of the card. I’ve found that graded cards tend to have fairly similar auction and buy it now selling prices though. One last thing would be to also strike the highest and lowest sold price…or the outliers, as that is exactly what they are, outliers. They don’t represent the true market value and they could merely show someone in a financial crisis who is selling cards at rock bottom…or someone who has more money than they know what to do with and they would pay absolutely anything for a specific player. I believe these changes would greatly improve the accuracy of the true current value of the raw cards.

Thanks for this feedback.  Our pricing does factor in outliers by giving those high and low sales less weight than other sales.  We use multiple factors to consider what is an outlier and give them all lower weight than other sales.  We do not delete sales from the history unless they are incorrect, but we do factor in outliers when calculating a sale.

We factor in auction vs buy it now prices too.  We show all of those sales, but auction prices will have a bit more weight than buy it now because it had more people choosing the price, rather than 1 person being impatient and using BIN. I'll leave this issue open if people think it is useful to separate the sales by auction and BIN.
